November 11, 14, 2012

Wednesday, November 14, 2012, Message given through Aaron Johnson.
  • It's not us; it's "Him" through us!
  • It's because God allows us to.
  • We have to fully trust God no matter what we do.
Five questions:
  1. What does it take to please God?
  2. What does it take to make a drastic change?
  3. Why does God often let His children suffer?
  4. What is all this for?
  5. What is the purpose for our life?

1. What does it take to please God?
  • Wrap yourself in the Word!
  • Don't just "be" a Christian; "live" as a Christian.
  • Seek first the Kingdom of God (Matthew 6:33)
  • Realize that you are Not Of This World (NOTW)
  • We ought to obey God rather than man (Acts 5:19)
  • Read your Word!
  • Stand up for what you believe!
  • We need to "Christ like," not "flesh like."
  • We must completely offer ourselves to Him.
2. What does it take to make a drastic change?
  • You need to be at a point that you realize you need God.
  • Allow God to take %100 control of your life.
  • God needs us to be in a state of uncomfortableness so that "He" can mold us; use us.
  • We need to be humble. (Matthew 18:3,4)
  • We need to be Christians 24/7.
  • We need to build each other up.
3. Why does God often let His children suffer?
  • Suffering makes us stronger.
  • It helps us realize that God is with us.
4. What is all this for? and 5. What is the purpose for our life?
  • God has more in store.
  • God wants us to take it outside the church.
  • We must be witnesses!
  • We need to make sure we're living what we're saying, praying, reading.
  • Do things with expectancy.
  • We cannot only be churchgoers.
  • We need to build each other up!
  • Challenge: sometime this week, stand up for what you believe in.
  • We cannot waste an opportunity to tell people about God!
  • We need to be about our Father's business!
  • Encourage one another.
  • Other scriptures: Isaiah 40:10, John 16:33, Philippians 1:29, Psalms 46:10, Jeremiah 1:8-10.

  • We need to become Word people.
  • The Holy Spirit says, "Go so deep in My presence that you don't come out of My presence."
  • We need to get out of our rut.
  • We need to shut up. Sometimes it's the only thing we can do.
  • If you keep doing the same stupid stuff...you keep getting the same stupid results.
  • Stop looking at the seed and start looking at the harvest.
  • Come here hungry!
  • You don't have to envy anyone. Whatever they have God will also give you.
  • You have no idea what tomorrow will hold for you.
  • You need to die to yourself daily.
  • God is not putting you out; He's putting you in!
  • What you thought was a problem may be an opportunity.
  • If you're having trouble, go back to the last point you know and start there.
  • It's always a Heaven or Hell thing.
  • God does not send you on wild goose chases.
  • You have no idea how effective your good can be.
  • Base your decisions on the Bible.
  • Your mind has a lot to do with your life.
  • You need a "bouncer" in your mind. Any thought that doesn't line up with the Word...kick out!
  • In the absence of greatness there's a great opportunity.
  • God wants to use us to make a difference. Get out of that rut so God can use you!
  • He declares His Word and tells you to walk in it.
  • Your best days are ahead of you.
  • The trouble is you're not in the place God wants you to be when He's ready to do something for you.
  • If God corrects you He's got a reason to correct you.
  • If you don't get out of your rut the enemy will close off both sides and it will be a grave.
  • "I lay hands on the sick and they recover. I lay hands on the sick and they get well. I lay hands on the sick and they recover, and they believe, and don't go to hell."
